Between text and image, this photobook builds the complex history of three generations of women in the author’s life. The mother’s house, full of mascots, dolls and peculiar objects, becomes a space both fantasy and terrible, metaphor of an intricate and dramatic story that Sarai approaches oscillating between fiction and reality, in an honest and profound reflection in words and images. Donde no puedas verme is the construction of a fantasy refuge and although I play with fantasy, space is not fiction, it is our family history inhabiting this book.”
Between intervened file images, photographs taken by the author, texts, and a delicate invoice that includes several different booklets, the narration of Where you can not see me is constructed, materialized in a fascinating object that hides and reveals disturbing secrets.

Nací en una familia en donde la madre, la abuela y la bisabuela impusieron sus decisiones a la familia entera -La identidad de mi padre y de mi abuelo son un secreto; nadie habla en casa sobre ellos-.

     Documento la casa materna llena de objetos peculiares como una alegoría del espacio porcelanizado y asfixiante, resultado del sofocante linaje que impuso nuestra identidad, un espacio que oscila entre lo fantasioso y lo terrible, metáfora de la intrincada historia de matriarcado que abordo en este libro entre palabra e imagen.

     Donde no puedas verme, es la construcción de un refugio de fantasía, y aunque juego con la fantasía, la casa y los personajes no son ficcionarios. Es mi historia familiar habitando este fotolibro.
